As Founder and President, Wai Yan Aung leads the vision and growth of New Generation Myanmar. He builds the teams and gathers the support that let NGM offer K–12 education, GED preparation, and language courses to thousands of students across Myanmar. He also offers lifetime scholarships, so that families in need can afford an education.

Education Anywhere

  1. NGM is a virtual school based in the US serving children throughout Myanmar.
  2. Since the coup in 2021, millions of Myanmar children have been without education for at least 2 years in a row.
  3. The ongoing civil war has been tremendously destructive throughout the country.
  4. Many areas in Myanmar do not have the infrastructure or security to host classes in person.
  5. Going on campus can be dangerous in Myanmar, so our solution allows students to stay at home and learn online.
  6. We can make a larger impact by taking advantage of technology.
  7. New Generation Myanmar is combating this education deficit by hosting classes virtually.
  8. Our students gain valuable leadership, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills from our expert teachers and unique NGM curriculum.

Our mission is to raise the next generation of Myanmar so that they can go on to create a brighter future.

Humanitarian

Well Burma

Wai Yan Aung is a founder and the Vice-President of Well Burma, a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports the people of Burma (Myanmar) in their fight for democracy and freedom. Through its Save Karenni Project, Well Burma sends food, electrical generators, cars, mobile internet satellites, and other essential supplies to camps for internally displaced people. Wai Yan Aung and his network of donors give to this project regularly. Well Burma's second program is New Generation Myanmar, the virtual school he founded.

    Miss Myanmar is the biggest annual national beauty contest in Myanmar to select Myanmar's representatives for world-class international beauty contests.

    20 state and regional representatives compete in the Miss Myanmar contest each and every year.

    The winner of Miss Myanmar contributes to various social and charity activities in the country.

Achievements and Recognitions

  1. 2012

    With his great efforts in this field of endeavor, Wai Yan Aung founded the Miss Golden Land Myanmar Organization in 2012 together with co-founder and CEO, Han Zaw Latt.

  2. 2014

    In 2014, he founded the Miss Golden Land Myanmar Charity Foundation to support this mission.

  3. 2016

    In 2016, his MGLM Org won Best (5) Asian Top Fashion Organization of the Year at the Fashion Asia 2016 ceremony held in Chongqing, China, among hundreds of organizations from the fashion industry all over the continent of Asia.

  4. 2018

    In 2018, Wai Yan Aung founded MGLM Training School where students can learn total self-improvement and confidence development.

  5. 2019

    In 2019, Wai Yan Aung organized the Mrs. Asia International 2019 beauty contest hosted in Myanmar to promote the tourism and culture of Myanmar through contributing to the international community and international exchanges.

    26 representatives from the continent of Asia participated in the contest, which was held in Mandalay and at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bagan, Myanmar.
